Many of the same tools and processes that are utilized in DJO's "lean" operations, including kaizen blitzes, failure analysis metrics and visual instructions are utilized in the EHS programs.

Known as the OSHA incident rate, it is a commonly used metric that serves as a benchmark against other industries or companies for comparing year-to-year performance. Steady improvement in managing employee safety over the past several years has driven the incident rate consistently below the manufacturing industry’s average. One direct financial measure of the impact from reducing injuries is a dramatic drop in the company's workers' compensation insurance costs.
